Hi and welcome,

In this post you will find information on where you can obtain Amiga games for download. I’m talking about classics like Super Frog, Project X, Monkey Island, It Came from the Desert, Defender of the Crown, Kick Off, Sensible Soccer and many, many more..

This post will be particularly helpful for those who are new to Amiga emulation. Please have a look below for links.

DOWNLOAD EMULATORS:

There are many emulators to choose from, but the most common one is WinUAE for PC’s with Windows. I use WinUAE myself and I find it excellent.

E-UAE (AmigaOS 4, MorphOS, Linux etc): http://www.rcdrummond.net/uae/

FS-UAE (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X etc.): http://fs-uae.net/download

PSP-UAE (Playstation Portable): http://www.ultimateamiga.co.uk/index.php/page,6.html

WinUAE (Windows / PC): http://www.winuae.net/frames/download.html

DOWNLOAD GAMES:

The games you download will in most cases be in the .ADF (Amiga Disk Format) format. This is basically a clone of an Amiga disk. In the emulator you can select it like you do with ROM’s in console emulators and the game will boot automatically. This is the best way to start your Amiga emulation journey.

For more advanced users: If you configure a HD (hard drive) in the emulator you can download WHD-Load packages. These are HD-installed games that can run with a double-click from Workbench (the Amiga OS). Please find links below to a great sites hosting hundreds of such packages.

Commodore is Awesome (Great selection of games with nice interface!): http://awesome.commodore.me/amiga/amiga-games/

Dream17 (All Team17 games in .ADF or .IPF format, also CD32 ISOs): http://www.dream17.info/downloads.php?cat=1

KG WHDLoad (Packs filled with WHD-Load games): http://kg.whdownload.com/kgwhd/

Open Amiga Games Database (Great selection of games): http://oagd.net/reports/downloadable-games

PlanetEMU (All the commercial Amiga games you want in .ADF format): http://www.planetemu.net/roms/commodore-amiga-games-adf

The Games Archives (Good selection of games, also for other systems): http://thegamearchives.net/?val=0_2_1_0_0_4_17_0_0_0_0

WHDownload (Hundreds upon hundreds of games, WHD-Load): http://www.whdownload.com/

KICKSTART ROMS:

To be able to use the Amiga emulator you need to get the official Kickstart ROM’s for it. These are still copy-protected and being sold commercially through the Amiga Forever emulation package. This package can be found here: http://www.amigaforever.com/. There are probably torrents containing these files, but those are not legal as far as I know.

NOTE:

I will update this post in the near future with more information. Please leave a comment if you have any questions, suggestions, thoughts or just want to say hi. :D Hope someone finds this text helpful.
