External monitor with a Powerbook

A Powerbook is quite a good choice for a MorphOS machine. The top of the line have a 1.67 GHz processor, up to 2 GB RAM (1.5 will be available for the user), have a Radeon 7000 with 128 MB VRAM and also a high definition 17″ screen that handles 1680×1050. The only downside is it’s weak USB ports, and the fact that there is only two of them. Don’t expect to get power hungry devices such as HDD:s working via a hub. And they are quite a hazzle to upgrade with new RAM and HDD.

Coming Soon - Amiga Game for 68k and AmigaOS

This project has been slowly cooking away over the last few months and something I have been wanted to do for many years.  (Complete a game on the Amiga and release it).

Here is a little tease of the 68k version.

First boot from virtual filesystem!

After implementing some more functions and some debugging, I am now able to boot from a virtual filesystem. All AmigaOS files are stored in a linux-native filesystem and mounted inside uae for AmigaOS to use:

Trying to use mini-box picoPSU-120 to power Amiga but -12v rail is out of ATX compliance

So I purchased a mini-box picoPSU-120 kit which is in essence a very very small power supply that provides multiple regulated voltages. I want to power my Commodore Amiga 500 with the tiny power supply but there’s potentially a big problem with using it out of the box: the -12v rail seems to be out of spec. It’s not being properly regulated to -12v.

A new work space

For several weeks now me and my wife have been busy redecorating our apartment in order to maximize our living space. It took a good while, but we are finally reaching the end. So I bought myself a new computer work space and chair. It’s much roomier than before:

Introducing AMISearch

AMISearch is a Google Custom Search I have built to search websites relating to AmigaOS 4 and the AmigaONE platform.

I decided to create this search engine to make it easier for AmigaOS 4 users to find information they need.

It is early days still but please feel free to try it out at www.amisearch.com and let me know your suggestions for websites and categories to add to the search. Thanks!
