Coronavirus cancels "Interface XXIX" event

Once again public health takes precedence over retro computing.

Due to increased spread of the coronavirus in Germany, an in accordance with expected restrictions to public life, the "Interface XXIX" event by Vintage Computer Club (VCC), Amiga-Club Schleswig-Holstein (ACSH) and Computer-Club Klausdorf (CCK) to be held in Kiel on Nov. 27th 2021, was cancelled.

No substitute event (online stream, ...) is planned - but the organisers already promised to create a new event and send out invitations once the situation is back to normal.

Tony’s Game Of The Year Awards 2021

Oh hello there, Game Of The Year lists have always been a thing for people and most of the time I would struggle like hell to find one to write about due to the insane amount of games (old and new) that I play throughout a year. Is it possible to write something interesting for […]

The app Hornet, which caters to the gay male community, has seen a 30-percent increase in social feed engagement since social distancing measures began in mid-March, according to CEO Christof Wittig. Amigas on the lake

Sitting at my old demo group’s 30th anniversary party (which I mentioned in this blog post), I had no inkling that we were in fact reviving a tradition. I’m happy to say that since that first reunion, we’ve been meeting on a fairly regular basis to compare notes, play with our machines and discuss all things Amiga. We’re now a mixed bunch consisting of retro hardware collectors, next-gen enthusiasts (yes, me) and occasional emulation users, but the meetings are always great fun!

Using BBS with my Amiga 3000 in 2021

No carrier, ATDT, ATZ, ZModem, XModem, Kermit, Door games, FidoNet, and SysOps. Ring a bell?

For those who never got to experience Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) back in the day, they were the pre-internet method for spreading software, chatting, playing online gaming, chatting on Forums, and a lot more too.

A Story To Be Told: Legend of Falconia

2021 has been a superb period as far as Amiga games release. Not only did new games appear on the horizon, but the time was ripe also for retrieving great titles of the past. In particular, thanks to a very dedicated fan (and user), we were able to put our hands on an unpolished gem […]

Replacement Amiga 600 has arrived!

This week saw the arrival of my replacement Amiga 600 computer, recapped and resprayed in a beautiful dual tone paint job!

The computer was purchased from Ami64.com, who sold it as a one-off build computer. They can do these resprays on A600 and A1200 systems.

Happy anniversary, Easy1541!

Ok, not reeeally Amiga, but then still very Amiga, is Fabrizio Farenga's Easy1541 website.

If you ever considered somehow doing something useful with your Amiga regarding the C64, it might have been to build an Easy1541-compatible cable, connect the Amiga to a Commodore 1541 5.25 inch floppy drive, and modify disk contents using Fabrizio's "Easy1541" software (see links below).
