Our caterer has agreed to a short extension for the AmiWest 2013 banquet deadline. We are able to accept continuing reservations for banquet tickets until further notice

Here’s a start to what the monster looks like. I think I’ll like the PCB form factor a little better. 
I thought a little bit about how I lay this out, but I didn’t come to any great solution. Almost seems like the traveling salesman problem!
So I can’t believe how freakin’ tiny those pins are coming off the memory chip. The pads on the surfboard were huge by comparison. I actually thought there was a manufacturing defect on the memory chip and they forgot to include the pins or something.
I am totally lacking any type of magnification…..I’m gonna place a few orders and get some stuff in here for the future. I’ve been looking for a good high quality 10x loupe and a lighted magnifier for a long time. Most of what I see out there is total crap.
Everything has arrived! I think the first order of business is soldering this darn memory chip…. Not sure how hard this is going to be, but I’m going to give it a shot!@#

I placed an order yesterday for some prototyping parts to get this project off the ground.
Some of the key parts are:

I noticed today that there is a patched release of Qt called Quickfix 7 now available. I wanted to show how to install this on the X1000, as there were no instructions on how to do it in the archive.
In a new AmiWest record, 47 nights had been sold at the our hotel
venue by last week. We were told today that the AmiWest rate was
no longer available, i.e., that the rooms at that rate had sold
out.
Today I went to run AmiUpdate (it has been a few months since I did this) and found 12 updates to install! Looks like the AmigaOS developers have been busy!
