IRIDIUM - Creating Maps - 800% Speed

As we get closer to releasing "IRIDIUM" though you might like to see the map building process. While this map still needs double the amount of layers to create the 3d appearance it gives you an idea of how we have built each one.

Amiga MAST enhanced unidrive external drive teardown

Back in the Christmas of 1991 or 1992, my parents bought me an external floppy drive. It was $129, which was a lot of money back then. The equivalent price would be about $245 after inflation.

I probably found this drive in either AmigaWorld magazine or Computer Shopper, which iirc was a thin newspaper type printed on large format paper.

This external amiga-specific floppy drive with DB23 connectors had a few unique features. It had a two-digit track indicator for which track was being read or written. It also had a few switches in the back. The three switches controlled:

First beta of PiMiga is out (Pi4)

So, for those of you who like to run Amiga on the raspberry Pi, apparently, the Pi4 was having some issues with Amibian/Amiberry on the new version.

Just today, one for Pi4 is now out in beta format.  Here are some screenshots:

Restored images for Coffin OS WinUAE review

I did a 2 part mini-review of the Coffin r54 OS using WinUAE not long ago, but the ultraimg-hosted images weren’t showing up recently.  I’ve switched to hosting them on wordpress so now you can see them again.  I only did that because I still had the source images. Older posts are probably not going to be fixed unless I need to and can find them on web.archive.org or similar.

A Look At Ultracore Collector’s Edition – Hardcore Returns

It is time to go back to 1993, a time when the Amiga had AAA studios still releasing games and everything looked absolutely brilliant. Digital Illusions had just released some news about two upcoming action platformer type of games and they also reported that their last pinball game (Pinball Fantasies was just recently released for […]

MorphOS 3.13 and Iris Beta 71 Email on X5000

First off I must apologise for the slowness of blog updates this month. I have been quite ill for the past two weeks (especially the last week) with some kind of bad flu thingy. And no, I haven't travelled anywhere overseas or even Australia recently...I am still recovering, so I have been isolating and working from home (just in case) to protect work colleagues and family.

Despite this, I have still been doing some Amiga stuff this month.

A replacement, transparent custom case for an Amiga 600

While I recently posted about a custom case cover for the A600, I saw this one today that replaces the wedge case. While I personally liked the Commodore wedge design, I think this one looked really good.  Inside you can see the CFIDE adapter, KS 3.1 ROM and Furia 020 accelerator.  Outside, it looks like wireless mouse and keyboard.  Pretty nice!

COVID-19 cancels Revision 2020

Due to the current outbreak of COVID-19 caused by the new Corona virus, Revision 2020 demo party to be held in Saarbrücken, Germany, from April 10th to 13th 2020, is cancelled - but there's a backup plan.

Very Nice A600 custom case

I spotted this one on Facebook.  Someone used a 3d Printer to make his own custom cover case for his A600, including a space for the PCMCIA card if one is there.  I don’t think he’s offering to make them for others but I thought it was very nice and deserved to be spotlighted to show what Amiga lovers can and will do for their machines.

More Amigadrama and weird domainregistrations

This weekend I noticed a post on Facebook in the “Commodore Amiga” group.

It was simply Amigapassion making a note that if you went to www.amigapassion.com   you was redirected to Amigakit webshop.

Now this is simply put very not ok.   As most of you might know. amigapassion (on real site: https://www.amigapassion.co.uk/ ) offers repairs of Amigacomputers.  so does amigakit.
