Exploring the Coffin OS with WinUAE – pt 2
In this entry, I’m going to do a dive into the software provided with the standard install of Coffin OS. See my former post on Coffin OS setup with WinUAE –> here <–
There is a dock bar at the bottom, ToolManager, that has many prebuilt shortcuts:
From left to right, here’s what they launch:
Using the USB3 ports on X5000
This blog post is a short one, but I wanted to quickly cover off an annoyance on my AmigaOne X5000 and how I fixed it this week. Specifically I am talking about the non-working USB3 ports on the top of the case it came in...
APECAT making progress
You might have seen our little article, asking for support for APECAT, the "Amiga Processor Expansion Card for Application Transfer" - we have good news!
In case you haven't heard about APECAT before: Stian Søreng is developing a homegrown expansion device for the Amiga 500 (MC68000 CPU slot - probably Amiga 2000, too) that is designed to be able to directly upload code to the Amiga's memory, and execute it on boot.
Pretty cool, isn't it?

My Amiga 3000 Build Part 2
In this blog entry I will continue my new Amiga 3000 build. Please review Part 1 of the build so you know what has been done so far before diving in here, as I am just continuing straight on for this Part 2.

The Games We Never Talk About: Wendetta 2175
Wendetta 2175 always comes up as a wildcard when I show my game collection to Amiga friends and it somewhat still baffles me that so few people actually managed to secure themselves a copy of the game. No, this ain’t one of those rare unknown games that are crap and never should have seen a […]
AMIGA Patreons who I support :)
It's really nice to give a little back to all the people who I appreciate in the Amiga Community. I have a small patreon site and a few very generous people are helping my may Amiga dream come true.
Expansion Systems DataFlyer Plus 2.1
Way back in about 1992, I finally had enough money (ok, well, enough credit) to finally expand my Commodore Amiga 500 to how I wanted it. I previously had an A501 memory expansion module and an external floppy drive that my parents had bought me for Christmas the year or two before. A major upgrade was a Microbotics VXL*30 accelerator card which included a 68030 at 25mhz, and whopping 2MB RAM which was just amazing for the time. I may make a post in the future about the specifics of that card.
Add a Raspberry PI to your A500 expansion slot
This is old news now, and I didn’t blog about it back when I first heard about it, but I thought it was long overdue to have a way to add a Raspberry PI to an Amiga to take advantage of cheap, but powerful hardware.
Enter the A314:
There’s a long thread on EAB about it that is good reading.
A Cryptic screenshot of an upcoming Amiga 3.x update?
While digging deep on a German forum that was discussing the Amiga OS 3.1.4.x release, there was a thread called “OS 3.2 Preview”. Attached was this image (Click to see a larger version):
People that look closely can see some hints of what is to come (not easy but there were several small things added that people found).
New Graphics card for Zorro II/III Amiga
A few years ago, I posted about a newly designed zorro graphics card called the VA2000.
Well, it looks like a new card is in the works, this time with a dual core ARM-7 processor, which is supposedly for decoding video and audio. Check out the website here
Exploring Coffin OS (Vampire) with WinUAE – pt 1
I’ve been interested in the custom Amiga OS bundle/distro for Vampire users called Coffin OS for a while now. There haven’t been many reviews of it for non-vampire users and I thought I’d give it a go using WinUAE. This will be the first of a 2 part review, with initial setup and initial configuration. Part 2 will be more about the bundled software.
