As you may know, I previously covered the installation of AmiKit XE 11.5 on my Raspberry Pi 400.
Now though, the Windows/Mac/Linux version of AmiKit XE has been caught up to the Raspberry Pi version, and now a little beyond too, with the support of AmigaOS 3.2.1 under AmiKit 11.6.1! Let's take a look!
It is amazing to think it has been 10 years since I first got my AmigaOne X1000 system, back in early 2012. I didn't want the anniversary to pass without mentioning it - even though it is not the triumph I was hoping for back in 2012!
First and foremost, I must apologise for the long gap between my last blog post in December to now. I hope your 2022 is going well, and that you and your families are doing well.
I have been so busy with work commitments this year due to a promotion into a global role, and that has left little time for me to do justice to any significant blog entry.
Beyond all the blog posts I did this year covering my Amiga system upgrades, many new games and other programs like AmigaOS 3.2 and PiStorm hardware released in 2021, I also decided to spend some time finding and trying out software and games in 2021 that I have never tried before on Amiga
It was announced that the Adelaide Retro Computing Group meeting in December would be a DOS themed meeting called Doscember. A few years ago I setup a Pentium 200MMX as my ultimate MS-DOS machine for running demos on the PC from the peak period for this in the 1990's.
I decided to delve a little deeper and find out what else I could do with the setup to show at the meeting. I was surprised at what else you can run under MS-DOS!
No carrier, ATDT, ATZ, ZModem, XModem, Kermit, Door games, FidoNet, and SysOps. Ring a bell?
For those who never got to experience Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) back in the day, they were the pre-internet method for spreading software, chatting, playing online gaming, chatting on Forums, and a lot more too.
This week saw the arrival of my replacement Amiga 600 computer, recapped and resprayed in a beautiful dual tone paint job!
The computer was purchased from Ami64.com, who sold it as a one-off build computer. They can do these resprays on A600 and A1200 systems.
I finally got around to installing my new Vampire 1200 v2 accelerator into my Amiga 1200 and it works great! A Vampire that actually works for me, finally!
It's 2021, and it seems I have gone back 30 years! There are so many new release games on Amiga and Commodore 64 in the past few years and I wanted to highlight some of these new games.
