Amiga App Store Review part 1 – AMIStore

Okay, there are multiple App stores that now exist for the Amiga, and I’d like to compare them all (3 so far). The first one up is the one getting the most publicity so far: AMIStore – the cooperative effort between A-EON (Maker of the AmigaOne x1000 and x5000) and AmigaKit (one of the last, biggest Amiga Online retailers around).

My tests were performed using the OS4.1 version using WinUAE 2.9.0.0b23 and Amiga OS4.1 Classic.

First things first: Check out their introductory preview:

Amiga Format: Christmas 1993 – Issue 54

Hi all,

We are approaching December and I thought we could celebrate that by having a quick peek at an old computer magazine I have in my collection. It is the Christmas edition of Amiga Format from 1993. The item is over 20 years old, but it doesn’t feel like it when I’m reading it. Perhaps I’m stuck in an Amiga time bubble or something. :D

Support out developers (again)

WArMUp  (The World Association of MorphOS Users) have yet again started a drive to gather funds for our various developers. This time there are two different fund raisers: one for developers in general and one for the development of the native word processor Calimero, which will be the successor of Scriba.

You’re not on the list!

Amiwest has come and gone for another year and I'm now back in the New Zealand as the Southern hemisphere heads towards Christmas. I don't think my Northern hemisphere imprinted brain will ever come to terms with "winter" being summer time down under. ;-)

As several other attendees have already have posted excellent blogs I decided not to write an Amiwest report this year, but I do have a few Amiwest highlights/tidbits to share:

Demo reel...

I have just discovered that hostcove compiled a nice video of lots of demos running on Amiga X1000.

I was too lazy for a power demonstration like this one, so I kindly borrow his work... Enjoy!
(No, it is not Rickrolling, I promise! ;))

Big thanks to hostcove for his efforts!
